French mantel clock by Choiselat Gaul (Louis Isidore Choiselat-Gallien, bronzier du Garde-Meuble between 1810-1840), first half of the 19th century. "Epoque Restoration" / late Empire.
The large and very well-preserved chimney clock shows the standing "HOMER" on the ruins of TROIS, bronzes originally gilded and the reddish marble "Griotte Rouge" are in very good condition, the whole thing stands on distinctive dancing feet.
The eight-day going train, pendulum with thread suspension, half-hour and hour lock disc striking mechanism on a bell has been cleaned and works perfectly.
